Loom Production Srl is an independent production company with a vocation for true stories. We weave together threads of stories torn from oblivion, to make unforgettable plots and warps. It doesn’t change whether they are documentary or fictional works, what matters is how you describe the world, how you manage to shed light on dark places, on prejudices, on stereotypes. When you realize that an idea you thought was right is actually a tired mental habit, then that cloth must be rewoven.
The first documentary work of the company, “The Last Row, history of Pippo Fava”, a biographical documentary about Giuseppe Fava, a journalist killed by the mafia 40 years ago, has been purchased by an Italian television channel.

Who killed the anti-mafia activist Peppino Impastato and why? We spend 1127 days of trial to discover it, when the boss Gaetano Badalamenti is condemned to life imprisonment, at the end of an amazing legal battle. “With this trial the myth of Gaetano Badalamenti’s impunity collapses”: to tell this, it’s the prosecutor Franca Imbergamo, the extraordinary and indefectible woman who gets justice against cynical defense lawyers who tried to destroy Peppino’s memory.

During his studies on hysteria, Freud, exploring the sexual lives of his patients, came across horrible stories of abuse, violence, incest, too early sexual experiences, and turned the other way. Hysteria, in fact, is so common among women in Freud’s society that if his theories were correct it would mean admitting that what he called “perverse acts against children” were endemic not only among the working classes of Paris, but also among the upper class of Vienna. An idea so unacceptable that Freud decides that those narratives of abuse are nothing more than the fruit of women’s sexual fantasies. One of the most authoritative psychiatrists of our time, one of the greatest experts of trauma, Judith Lewis Herman, tells us about it, explaining: “From that moment on, the alliance between patients and doctors in the study of hysteria was over. For the entire following century, dominant psychological theory denied the reality of sexual abuse.” Patriarchy has the upper hand over science and research. And even today the victims of sexual violence are still not believed.
